So. Mormons believe that judging others is bad and that we should definitely not do it. Yet, we all know that we do it, but rarely do we tell the person that we are judging that we are judging them. Yeah, hope you could follow that.
Anyways, I had a great experience with un-Christlike love the other day. Background: A couple weeks before, I was at work and was talking with my co-worker about a certain boyfriend at the time, and about some problems I needed some help with. I had mentioned certain boyfriend was 6'5" and that I was struggling with such a large height discrepancy. There was a boy in the room, just listening. I didn't think much of it.
Fast forward. I had broken up with aforementioned boyfriend a couple of weeks earlier. I was sitting on the grass with my best friend, and all of a sudden, the boy walks by! Again, didn't think much of it, except he said, "Yeah, definitely 6'5" as he walked past. I couldn't understand... and then I did. The judgement! Oh, the burn. By that time though, he was gone and along with him all my hopes of redeeming myself.
Two weeks or so later... he comes into the lab. My chance to redeem myself! I blurt out, "I broke up with the other guy! The guy you saw me sitting with is my best friend!" He replied, "OHH! Good to know!" After some awkward pleasantries, he left.
Sigh.
AND just as I was writing this blog post, I received a text from a certain, "It was such a blessing to see your face" boy. It reads, "Was that boy you were walking with your boyfriend? He looks shorter in real life."

Some Important Definitions...
Incest: When you are very close with your FHE family--so close, in fact, that there are several proposed dating relationships (some actually fulfilled).
Cold hands: This means she wants you to hold her hand. Whether this is expressed in a simple, "My hands are cold," or in the more poetic and LOTR friendly, "There is no warmth left in the sun," it only means one thing. Hold my hand, boy, or we're through.
Domestic: Something you must become before you can ever "git hitched." No one knows the full definition, but we do know that it involves cooking things from scratch (I know, even brownies and popcorn), opening jars up all by yourself, and throwing spaghetti at the wall. Best of luck to you.
M&Ms and Ice Cream: Yo Roomies are moving up in the world. But hey, at least you get some sugar.
The Cat, a.k.a Janice: An evil trick, a scavenger hunt of death, and photo evidence of the terror that invades our lives constantly.
If there are anymore you can think of, feel free to add them. Until then, peace out. -Sara
Reina:
On the couch: Yes, the same couch. It means they're "going somewhere."
Holly:
It's a fish: It's no longer "going somewhere." It's there.

This has become a new trend, and I'm not sure how I feel about it...
Howdy. Sara here.
The last few dates I've been on have actually had a lot in common. They've all been first dates, and I've met all of their families.
Meeting a guy's family would be a little nerve racking if I had been dating him for a while and knew that I liked him. Then the pressure is on. However, on these first date flings, I have no fear. So their family and I get along pretty well.
Inevitably, later on that week, I discover that the man with whom I had said date is completely infatuated, because "I fit in so well with their family." Woah, slow down there, partner. We should probably get to know each other a bit better before we start thinking too much ahead.
BYU dating is fast-paced. And I'm a turtle. But some old folk tale said that I will win the race, right? As long as the faster hare falls asleep and I can steal their man. Or something like that.

In the lab...
Hola, Holly here.
I think I'm going to start a series of these stories, because they are just too good not to share. Plus, I think I will be spending a significant amount of time with engineers for at least the near future. I finally understand what my mom always said about spending an exorbitant amount of time in the Clyde... and what better way to spend that time than listening to the beautiful awkwardness that is the engineer.
Anyways, I was there last night (thanks Reina's family). Josh was studying for his transportation test—apparently I'm not the best study partner?—so I was just doing my own thing. I was taking a quick study break, and I then heard one of the best conversations I have ever heard, and now I will share it with you.
(Holly starts listening)
BOY A: There are no girls here.
BOY B: I know, you have to be dating an engineering major to even spend time with someone because we're up here all the time (speaking about the computer lab that we were in)
BOY A: I mean, how do we even meet girls though? All my classes are up here on the fourth floor, and my only shot of seeing other girls from outside would be if I went downstairs... they have normal classes down on the second floor, right?
BOY B: I mean, a couple, but not a lot. Have you tried meeting people in your ward?
BOY A: I tried! A ton of girls in my ward are dating other people though.
BOY B: Try the other Sunday School classes. Sometimes you have better luck there.
BOY A: Ugh, I seriously am so busy. I will never get married.
I solemnly swear that this is true and pure gold.

Men...
One time a man told me that I looked beautiful. I actually think "stunning" was the word he used. So then I talked to him, and found out that he is married. The end.

The oddly sarcastic and slightly sadistic approach to dating
Howdy. This is Sara speaking.
I've really only met two people who are talented enough to make me feel two opposite emotions at the same time. They make me laugh, while slowly (or quickly, depending on the circumstance) driving me insane. One is my brother. The other is a guy in our ward.
They are oddly similar. My brother is super sarcastic. He likes to make you think he's right, even when he knows he's not. He's super cute, but just as you are laughing at something clever he's said, you want to smack him upside the head at the same time. He reminds me a lot of this boy. We'll call him Iron Man.
Thursday night, roughly 9:37 pm. I came home from dance looking sweaty and gross, and was glad to be home. My mom called and I was talking to her as I found myself something to eat. Iron Man knocks at the door, and Reina answers and talks to him on the couch while I'm at the kitchen table just talking on the phone.
Then, all of a sudden, Reina says, "Sara, do you want to go to a bull fight?" I answered, "Heck yeah!!" (I'm a cowboy at heart. Just roll with it.) Both Reina and Iron Man burst into fits of laughter. I ended the conversation I was having on the phone and asked them to explain.
Turns out, Iron Man had come over seeking advice. His brother had asked if he wanted to go to a bull fight, and he was super excited. (I might mention here that he thought he was going to be the one fighting the bull, and was so pumped. Weird boy.) But then he found out what was actually going to happen (Sorry, Iron Man. You don't get to fight the bull). He then discovered that not only did he have to bring a date, but also that his entire family (parents and his many married siblings) were planning on coming as well.
So, he showed up at our apartment to ask advice. To be honest, I don't know what kind of advice he was looking for. What were we supposed to say? Reina hadn't really been expecting the full fledged "Heck yeah" answer when she asked if I wanted to go to a bull fight, but as I discovered what the story was behind the offer, I tried to save face. I said, "well, you are welcome to ask anyone you'd like." Iron Man then retorted, "If you really want to come, you can."
No, no, no, no, no. I don't do pity dates. At least, I don't do pity dates where I am the one being pitied. My roommates can attest to the fact that I go on pity dates pretty often because I feel bad saying no to the guy asking. But that doesn't apply here. And I digress.
Just as I was about to make up a story to get out of the awkward situation, Reina says, "Iron Man! Come on, you're asking her on a date, be nice and actually ask her!" He then sobered up and began to explain that it would make him the happiest man in the world if I, the most intelligent and beautiful girl with whom he had ever had the pleasure of speaking, would consent to spending some of my precious time in his presence. Or something like that. That may have been my interpretation. Anyway, I said yes.
So now I have a date with a guy who makes me laugh as well as drives me absolutely bonkers, I have to meet his entire family on the first date, my roommate is convinced he's in love with me, and I'm not even sure if he truly wanted to take me out. But hey. Even with all that confusion, look at the bright side: I got a free ticket to a bull fight. I'm counting this as a win.
